Delft blue tiles

Delft blue tiles background created from a bunch of tiles we found second hand on the Internet. Delft tiles take their name from Delft, a city in the Netherlands were artisans have been making Delft pottery since 1602. Inspired by the blue and white Chinese porcelain, Delft artisans happily embraced the Asian color palette. The tiles are covered in tin glaze by the potter, and then hand painted with blue motifs to depict Dutch scenes involving mythical creatures and agricultural scenes. Delft tiles were initially used for tiling fireplaces, but soon they became popular and were used all over the house.

We were planning to create a backdrop from Delft blue tiles for quite a while but couldn’t find the tiles we like and now we can finally launch this surface. These tiles express a vintage kitchen feel with a timeless and classic look. Large size is created true to size, beautiful to use as a wall background as well.

Our standard size background is used for the flat lay photos. You can see our large size as a wall background. Tiles are about 13X13 cm for both sizes.
